Not just during appointments

NHS appointments can feel rushed and the gaps between them long. As a private midwife, I care for a maximum of 8 women at a time, with appointments lasting up to two hours in your own home.

I know you, I remember what matters to you, and I'm never rushing on to the next appointment. Questions don't wait for office hours - I'm here when you need me most.

Questions

Everything you might want to know

It's a really fair question. NHS midwives are dedicated professionals, but they typically carry caseloads of 30–40 women at a time, meaning appointments are often short, sometimes feel rushed, and the gaps between them can be long. With me, you have a maximum of 8 clients at any one time. I know you - your history, your worries, what matters to you - and I'm available between appointments when questions and concerns naturally arise. You get up to 2-hour appointments in your own home, continuity with the same midwife throughout, and support that fits around real life rather than a clinical schedule. Many of my clients continue to see their NHS midwife alongside working with me - it's not either/or. Think of it as an extra layer of expert, personal support during one of the most important times of your life.
A warm, relaxed consultation in your own home - no rush, no pressure. We'll explore your history, how you're feeling, and create a care plan together. Your partner is always welcome.
I'm based in Ilkley and travel within a 20-mile radius, including Ilkley and Harrogate. Not sure if you're covered? Just get in touch.
Yes - fully insured through the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Yes, flexible monthly payment plans are available across all packages. Please ask for details when you get in touch.
Yes - my care works alongside your NHS care, not instead of it. I'm here to provide the continuity, depth and accessibility that isn't always possible within the NHS system.
Absolutely. I have specialist training in neurodivergent parenting support, twin pregnancies, and the 3 Step Rewind process for previous traumatic birth experiences.
Yes - partners are always welcome at every appointment. I include partner preparation resources as standard because they matter too.
As early as possible - ideally in the first trimester. The sooner we start, the more I get to know you and the better your experience will be. That said, it's never too late to get in touch.
